Aberdeen Medicine asks for AAA incl. Chemistry + one of Biology/Maths/Physics + one other, at first sitting at A-level, or 36 points overall with 6,6,6 at Higher Level including Chemistry plus one of Biology, Maths or Physics in the IB. At GCSE: Grade 6 in English Language and Maths; Biology and Physics recommended. No published cut-off. 2026 entry: lowest invited 1700 (Scottish), 1720 (RUK), 1730 (International). Strong academics can offset a mid UCAT.

Aberdeen medicine interview format

Aberdeen runs a modified Multiple Mini Interview lasting about an hour, held in person at the Suttie Centre on the Foresterhill campus. Two selectors staff each station and score content and communication separately, and the number of stations depends on the course. No academic or scientific knowledge is tested, and your application can be used as a discussion prompt. Selection is weighted 30 per cent academic, 20 per cent UCAT and 50 per cent interview, so the day itself decides most of the outcome. What UCAT score do I need for Aberdeen Medicine 2027 entry?

There's no published cut-off - Aberdeen ranks candidates on Academic (30%) + UCAT (20%). Aim for 2,650+ if RUK or International (2025 average invited ~2,700), and 2,550+ if Scottish (2025 average invited ~2,560). SJT Band 4 is a hard reject.

How is the Aberdeen Medicine application scored?

It's one of the most transparent scoring models in the UK: Academic score (predicted/achieved A-levels) 30%, UCAT 20%, and MMI Interview 50%. GCSEs are NOT scored at shortlisting from 2025 entry onward - only your academic predictions/achieved grades count.

Does Aberdeen use GCSEs for shortlisting?
