Students pick colleges for the wrong reasons, write personal statements that list activities instead of reflecting on them, and freeze in interviews when a question goes somewhere unfamiliar.
This session fixes that. You get the honest version from someone who went through the process recently: what changes your odds, what does not, and what to do next.

Oxford medicine student Oxbridge interview specialistAs a 5th year at Oxford, Hope has extensive experience preparing students for Oxbridge medicine interviews. She has spent two years working on Oxford medicine open days, giving her real insider knowledge from the tutors and admissions officers who actually run the process.
Her teaching is practical. You will answer real interview questions, get direct feedback, and learn how to think out loud when a question takes an unexpected turn. That is how interview confidence actually builds. Hope also tutors GCSE and A level biology and chemistry, and her clinical interests include obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and GP. Outside medicine she enjoys fitness, nutrition and speaking Spanish.

Topic 1Both are six-year courses with three preclinical and three clinical years, but the detail matters. Oxford teaches anatomy with prosections, Cambridge with full cadaveric dissection. Oxford asks for A*AA, Cambridge for A*A*A.
Oxford uses a shortlisting formula based on GCSEs and UCAT score. We show you how the formula works in practice, what a realistic UCAT target looks like, and what happens once you are invited to interview by two colleges.
Cambridge takes a more contextual view of your scores and interviews far more applicants, so the interview carries more weight. We cover open applications, the pooling system, and how to prepare for a science-heavy supervision-style interview.
At Oxford you are interviewed by two colleges whatever you apply to, so your odds are essentially the same anywhere. At Cambridge, open applications are treated equally. Pick a college you want to live in, not one you think is a loophole.
Both universities publish selection criteria. We show you how to write against them, why reflection beats a list, and which reading, online experience and volunteering genuinely strengthen an Oxbridge application.
Tutors are not looking for perfect answers. They want to see how you think, whether you can take a hint, and whether you stay curious under pressure. We practise talking through reasoning out loud on unfamiliar problems.
The masterclass covers both universities in one session. If you want deeper support, these pages will help you choose the next step.

You are interviewed by two colleges, usually two panel interviews of about 20 to 25 minutes each. Most of the time is spent on science problems, graphs and data, with a few questions on your motivation and personal statement.
Mostly science based: biology, chemistry and maths applied to a problem you have not seen before. You may also get questions on your personal statement, your reading and why you want to study medicine at Cambridge.

Mid-December. Oxford runs one intense interview week, and you are interviewed by two colleges during it.
Mid-January, after the December interviews and the college decision meetings in early January.
Early to mid-December, usually one or two interviews at the college you applied to, or the college you were allocated if you made an open application.
Two as standard, one at your first-choice college and one at a second college, each around 20 to 25 minutes. Some applicants get a third.
No. UCAS only lets you apply to one of them in the same cycle for undergraduate medicine. Part of this masterclass is helping you pick the right one.
Neither sets a hard cut-off. Oxford weights UCAT and GCSEs roughly 50:50 at shortlisting, and shortlisted applicants tend to sit well above the average. Cambridge takes a more contextual view and puts more weight on the interview.
They are similar in difficulty but they filter differently. Oxford shortlists harder on UCAT and GCSEs, Cambridge interviews far more applicants so the interview decides more. We compare both in the session.
Yes, when it is practice based. Tutors are testing how you reason out loud on unfamiliar problems, and that is a skill you can rehearse. Reading tips alone does not build it, which is why we practise live in the session.
