What format is the UCLan medicine interview?

UCLan runs a values based MMI, most recently six to eight stations of around five to seven minutes covering motivation, communication, ethics, teamwork, reflection, role play and an information gathering or data station, with no academic knowledge tested. Home applicants interview in person in Preston and international applicants are offered an online circuit. UCAT works as a threshold rather than a strict ranking here, so a moderate score above the line with a strong overall profile is workable, and SJT Band 4 is heavily penalised. The most recent published figures rescaled to 2,700 were a lowest non contextual invite around 1,800, a contextual invite around 1,614 and an average around 1,910. Interviews run November to March on a rolling basis.

How UCLan selects for interview

After academic minimum, UCAT alone determines interview shortlist - thresholds have been rising year on year.

All figures below are converted to the 2027 entry scale of 2700 (the old 3600 scale is no longer used). 2025 entry actuals, rescaled: lowest UCAT invited among non-contextual UK applicants 1800 (was 2400/3600), average invited 1910 (was 2545/3600), lowest offer 1733 (was 2310/3600), average offer 2050 (was 2618/3600). Treat 1800 as the minimum that got an invite, not a target: the average invited was around 1910.

Typical academic offer: AAA in at least two science subjects including Chemistry (2027 entry data).
