Edinburgh Medicine Mock Interview

1 to 1 Edinburgh medicine mock interview in the Assessment Day, three stations format Edinburgh uses. Recorded session, written feedback, from £69. Book within 48 hours.

What format is the Edinburgh medicine interview?

Edinburgh does not run a standard interview. Top scoring applicants are invited to an Assessment Day, normally in person and half a day long, built around three stations each scored independently by one selector: two individual stations and one group task, with applicants outside the UK and Ireland assessed virtually. Edinburgh says the assessments are based on the core attributes needed to study medicine set out by the Medical Schools Council. The Assessment Day is worth 50 per cent of the final ranking for 2027 entry, with academic score 25 per cent, UCAT decile 17.5 per cent and SJT band 7.5 per cent. The 2027 UCAT cut-off is 1850 and SJT Band 4 is not considered. Our mock mirrors the three station day and the scoring behind it.

How Edinburgh selects for interview

Combination of UCAT, A-levels/Highers, GCSEs and personal statement scored. Edinburgh does interview a subset of applicants (not fully paper-based as previously understood).

2024 entry average interviewed by fee status: Scottish 2782/3600, RUK 3017/3600, international 3106/3600 (cut-offs 2112 / 2299 / 2574). 2026 predictions: Scottish 2060, RUK 2240, international 2310.

Typical academic offer: A*AA with the A* in Chemistry, plus grade A in one of Biology/Human Biology/Maths/Physics (2027 entry data).
