Surrey Medicine entry requirements (2027 entry)

Surrey Medicine asks for Not applicable - graduate entry at A-level. At GCSE: Maths and English at grade C/5 or above. UCAT is only accepted if your degree is in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Science, Chemistry or Natural Sciences - all other applicants must sit the GAMSAT.

Is Surrey Medicine an undergraduate or graduate-entry course?

Graduate entry only. Surrey runs a 4-year BMBS Medicine (Graduate Entry), UCAS code A101. School leavers cannot apply.

What degree do I need for Surrey Medicine?

At least a 2:1 UK honours degree, or equivalent, in any subject. Surrey gives all subjects equal consideration. You can apply while you are still finishing your degree.

What GCSEs do I need for Surrey?

Maths and English at grade C (5) or above, or equivalent.

Do I need the UCAT or GAMSAT for Surrey?

£10,050 a year for UK students and £50,300 a year for international students (2027/28). Surrey also lists a 20% international alumni discount and the Vice-Chancellor's Future Leaders Award (£7,500 off fees).

Does Surrey accept international students?

Yes. International applicants need the same 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and IELTS Academic 7.0 overall with at least 7.0 in every component.

Can I defer entry to Surrey Medicine?

No. Surrey says this course does not accept deferred entry applications.

Where is Surrey Medicine taught?

At the Kate Granger Building on the Surrey Research Park in Guildford. Placements run with partner NHS trusts and GP practices within commuting distance, and Surrey refunds travel costs above your normal journey.

Is the Surrey medical degree GMC approved?

Surrey is going through GMC accreditation and has completed several key stages. As with every new medical school, final approval comes when the first cohort graduates. The University of Exeter acts as the contingency school during this time.
