What format is the Southampton medicine interview?
Southampton runs a Selection Day rather than a standard interview, and states plainly that the selection process includes an interview and a group task. Applicants to BM5 and BM4 are ranked by UCAT to decide who is invited, screened against academic requirements, then assessed on the Selection Day, with UCAT and Selection Day performance reviewed together for offers. Southampton does not use the Situational Judgement Test and publishes no UCAT cut-off. Working well with the other candidates is part of the assessment, so the group task needs practice, not just solo interview answers.
How Southampton selects for interview
After academic minimum is met, UCAT is the dominant ranking factor for shortlisting.
2025 entry: lowest invited 2760/3600 (≈2070/2700). MedicHut predicts 1980/2700 (home) and 2010-2010/2700 (international) safe cut-offs for 2027 entry.
Typical academic offer: AAA incl. Biology + one of Chemistry/Physics/Psychology/Sociology/Environmental Studies/Geography (2027 entry data).
