Leicester Medicine Interview Format 2027
For 2027 entry Leicester runs a Multiple Mini Interview. Home applicants attend face to face at the George Davies Centre on 8 to 18 December 2026 and 6 to 13 January 2027, and international applicants interview online from 8 to 12 February 2027. Shortlisting combines academic score and UCAT on a 50:50 split, and applicants with SJT Band 4 are automatically rejected before interview. Leicester currently describes the process as an MMI plus a numeracy test, lasting about an hour, and does not yet publish the exact 2027 station count or timings. Each station is given equal weighting, and assessors also record whether they would be happy to make you an offer. Leicester says a candidate with a good overall score whose assessors flagged concerns may be asked for a second interview, normally a face to face panel at an Offer Holder's Day. Common Leicester Medicine Interview Mistakes
In the numeracy embedded scenario you get the final number right but narrate it after you have already written it down, so the assessor cannot follow your working. Why it happens: candidates rehearse mental maths speed drills and forget Leicester is scoring how clearly you show your reasoning, not just accuracy.
Across a full hour of equally weighted stations you visibly relax once you feel one station went well, and your energy dips in the next one. Why it happens: well prepped candidates build a mental hierarchy of which stations matter most, but Leicester weights every station the same, so coasting on confidence costs marks elsewhere.
In the role play you resolve the colleague issue efficiently but never check how the actor is feeling about the situation first. Why it happens: candidates over practise a fix it fast structure for professionalism scenarios and skip the human check in step because it feels like it slows the answer down.
You describe year one patient contact accurately but cannot connect it to why you specifically want that early exposure. Why it happens: candidates memorise the fact that Leicester is integrated from year one but never rehearse turning that fact into a personal reason, so it comes out as recited trivia rather than motivation.

You are given a short numeracy problem relevant to a clinical scenario. Talk through how you would solve it. Why it matters: Leicester includes a numeracy element, and a strong answer shows working clearly rather than just stating a final number.
Tell me about a time you had to persuade someone to see things your way. Why it matters: this checks communication and reasoning, and a weak answer relies on repetition rather than building a genuine argument.
How would you approach a role play where a colleague is not pulling their weight? Why it matters: professionalism stations score how you balance fairness with directness, and a strong answer addresses the issue without being confrontational.
What would you do if you were unsure whether you would get an offer purely on your assessor's impression? Why it matters: Leicester assessors record whether they would be happy to offer you a place, so this checks consistent, genuine self presentation across the whole MMI.
How to Prepare for a Leicester Medicine Interview
