Glasgow Medicine Interview Format 2027
Glasgow does not run an MMI circuit. For 2027 entry the interview is online and lasts 30 minutes in two parts: Panel A on your motivation to become a doctor and teamwork, and Panel B on communication and a discussion of one of two given ethical scenarios, with two interviewers covering both parts. Interviews run from late November 2026 to March 2027, invited by email on a rolling basis. Glasgow does not consider the SJT, and says its 2027 UCAT thresholds will not be known until November 2026 or published until September 2027. Interviewers want evidence, not opinions, so we drill answers anchored to real examples.

Common Glasgow Medicine Interview Mistakes
You bring your motivation and teamwork answers from Panel A into the ethical scenario discussion in Panel B without adjusting the register. Why it happens: the same two interviewers run both parts across one 30 minute call, so candidates blur the two assessments together instead of treating each as a separate scored section.
You pick a side on the ethical scenario immediately and spend the rest of the discussion defending it rather than exploring the other perspective first. Why it happens: candidates trained to sound decisive default to stating a verdict, but Glasgow is scoring the reasoning process across the discussion, not the speed of your conclusion.
You describe teamwork values in general terms and never land on one specific incident when pressed. Why it happens: Glasgow interviewers are explicitly told to look for evidence over opinion, and confident candidates assume a well phrased general claim will read as evidence on its own.
You look away from the camera to gather your thoughts, which reads as disengagement over a 30 minute video call. Why it happens: for 2027 entry the whole interview runs online, and candidates who prepared mainly for in person delivery do not think about how thinking pauses look on screen.

Here are two ethical scenarios. Choose one and talk it through with me. Why it matters: Glasgow's Panel B is built around exactly this discussion format, and a strong answer reasons through the dilemma rather than stating a fixed opinion.
Give me an example of when you communicated something complicated to someone who did not understand it. Why it matters: communication is separately scored here, so a strong answer shows the adjustment you made for your audience.

How to Prepare for a Glasgow Medicine Interview
The session reproduces the online two part interview University of Glasgow School of Medicine uses, so the pacing, pressure and thinking being tested match the real day.
